Did anyone read Piers Anthony in their youth?

This was a cover illustration I did about 5 years ago for a compilation of the first three Xanth books.

Size: 12"x18"
Medium: acrylic, colored pencil and oil

*heavy breathing* I...I am speechless, this... is so... epic.

AHEM. I just finished reading Yon III WInd (which is the last Xanth book published in my country, sadly) and after Centaur Aisle I became a fanboy. Now please let me calm down and enjoy this beautiful piece of art. BTW, there isn't much good Xanth-related art, is there? I can't find any :(

Let's see...I'm going to guess at the identities of the characters here.

I'm guessing that the central character here is supposed to be Bink, while the man with the mustache and the more Mundane garment is Trent. The centaur is Chester and the spider is Jumper. The dragon is the Gap Dragon, and the woman on the left is Iris. Don't know who the mermaid is.

Xanth is one of my all time favourite fantasy series, and this is one of my all time favourite images of it. Your are wonderful. Brilliant.

So that's what Bink looks like. I'm assuming that's him up in front. Is that Trent behind him with the buzz-cut?

I don't think that's Bink in the front. That might be Dor when he took over the Barbarian when he entered the tapestry.

Could be.

Still have the books; I revisit them from time to time.
I heard talk about movies a few ages ago but the CG technology to make them decent was not available yet...
Perhaps times are better for it now

the first few books had such a strong connection in their plots they could probably start an entire franchise of movies buylt around them

I haven't read Xanth in YEARS. Isn't the author up to like, book 40 or something? Still...incredible work. Very intense, and realistic. I love it.
