Vampirella by TereseNielsen Vampirella by TereseNielsen
This is one of my first comic related images done for the Topps Vampirella Gallery card set, back in 1995. It's still one of my favorites.

If you're interested in reading my thoughts about it, seeing the thumbnail sketch, the card it was done for, and the available print, please hop on over to my blog for the full version. [link]

I remember this Card Very Vividly. It is excellantly  done in styles that remind me of old masters. Congrat's all these years later.

I think this is may be the best Vampirella possible...; certainly the best Ive ever seen (Ive seen a lot). A flawless mix of classic illustration, pin-up, Klimt and comic book cover style...eclecticism at its best!

Great mood in this piece; the painterly style makes it feel classic! I see and appreciate the Waterhouse reference! :) Gorgeous piece - I love the different styles you achieve in your work for mtg, etc! :)

Looks like Waterhouse's Medea meets vampires. Paying homage or did you just like the pose?

Surprised to read this is Waterhouse-inspired as it reminds me of Klimt! Great interpretation of her either way. I've been researching the character for a card set and this is far & away one of the best pics that's cropped up.

Nice to see a new post even if it's of old art. No time to go to the hundreds of different artist's individual blogs. Please post more on DA, where a quick check will show me everyone I'm watching's stuff at once.

Your art I never die of, and it is nice to see this classic piece again. This is the Vampirella from the original series from the 70s, a different character from whom we see today. Beautiful.

I love how her legs become almost purple with all the reflected light of the blood. I also really enjoy the bones as a sort of design element.

I think the next time I design a corporate website, I'm going to have to work some rib cages in! :D
