At first glance, I have to be honest, Anakin's face looks a bit like Nicholas Cage

Clone Wars really depicted Anakin to be a mature adult, a decent man and a legendary Jedi who sadly, eventually, succumbed to the dark side, the image in my head when Obi-Wan first described him to Luke. The films.. did NOT represent Anakin this way, they way he should have been. Nice work!

Honestly, I feel like it was poor writing and bland acting in the movies that made Anakin pathetic in the movies than in the series.

I agree, interviews with most of the cast (especially Portman) show their frustration at Lucas' writing and their inability to be allowed to improve on it.
