High Angel of Nature by TereseNielsen High Angel of Nature by TereseNielsen
I really enjoy illustrating angels. This is one of my favorites. I think I painted it about a year ago. It was for a project called Angel Quest that I art directed and illustrated 4 out of the 100 different angel cards.

It has obvious influences of Maxfield Parrish in the background and the Angel is inspired by some ancient Essene texts which speaks of a long red haired woman who was the Angel of Nature.

This piece was done with the same mediums: acrylic, colored pencil, oil.

*** I have archival PRINTS in stock of many of my works. Please feel free to send a note if there is a particular one that interests you.

HI Terese!!

Yeah, in fact, I wish I could stay the whole day painting.
But with my ConceptArt work here at the studio, is impossible.
But, I plan to be back, to freelancer life again next year, so I like this, I will have plenty of time to practice my paints.
I started to do a new paint with Namor, just because I would love to paint deep ocean scene....hahaha.

Your work and Raats paints, inspired me to start to paint again, with real materials.

Keep sharing your work, is really a inspiration for many artists in the world.

Cheers,

Rod.

I love how the background contrasts with the figures. It's simpler and make them stand out more. I also like how you mixed two styles in the painting, they look gorgeous together. :deviation:

The animals are sweet :D Beautiful face... The hair and wings are weaker part. I love the bacground, especially the branches and the "goat" on the rock - I don't know, what is its true name :)

That's interesting. The wings are my favorite part. I like to play around with stylizing things a bit so it's not "just like a photograph". Artistic license I suppose... works for some and not for others.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments.

I also prefer, when paintings are paintings, not "just like photo" :) They're more than photos.

The people who came up with the idea for this game live in the Seattle area and managed to get the product into quite a few stores out there. The marketing needs to be worked on to get it widely distributed.

I'm glad you liked my angel card. Thank you.

Yeah, the Maxfield Parrish inspired cliffs are striking... very luminous. They provide really nice contrast to the foreground characters. Beautiful piece.
